Melanie M. Pillai obtained an Honours degree in law  from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom in 1998 . 

She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2001. In a previous firm she was practising as a legal assistant and due to her diligence and level of commitment in the said firm, she was subsequently made an equity partner and was put in charge of handling the conveyancing department where her key client was a  prominent developer.

Melanie currently heads the conveyancing department of Joseph & Partners and is highly sought after by clients due to her persistence in pursuing seemingly impossible and complex property related matters and meeting extremely tight deadlines.
