Jeremy Mark Joseph, Partner

Jeremy M. Joseph is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He has a Masters degree in maritime law from the University of Southampton and is a recipient of the prestigious British High Commissioner’s Chevening Scholarship award.
Jeremy started his legal career as an Associate at the Singapore office of Holman Fenwick & Willan for several years. In 2002, he set up Messrs Joseph & Partners in Kuala Lumpur. The firm comprising a team of lawyers has been acknowledged by Legal 500 and Chambers Asia in 2009, 2010 and 2011, as a leading shipping firm in Malaysia. Jeremy was also the winner of Global Awards for the "2011 Malaysia Shipping Lawyer of the Year" run by Corporate International UK. Jeremy frequently acts as councel and co-counsel in various shipping and insurance cases and some have become important case authorities and precedents in Malaysia. He currently advises shipowners, P&I Clubs, banks, charterers, insurers and other commercial parties.
He has written numerous articles that have been published in leading law journals and authored and co-authored the 'Shipping, Insurance and Carriers volumes of Halsbury’s Laws of Malaysia'. He was the former Chairman of the Shipping & Admiralty Committee, for the Malaysian Bar. He presently sits in the Admiralty Court and Maritime Law Taskforce initiated by the Malaysian Chief Justice and the Maritime Arbitration Working Committee initiated by the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration.
